Maria Friberg (born in Malmö, Sweden, in 1966) lives and works in Stockkholm, in Sweden. She studied at the Gothenburg University in Gothenburg (Sweden, 1986), at the Bild & Form in Lunnevad (Sweden, 1987), at the Nordic Art School in Kokkola (Finland, 1988), at the Myndlista og Handidaskoli in Reykjavik (Iceland, 1992) and at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm (1995).
